The third issue focuses on a intriguing portraits by Kanade Hamamoto, Yokohama based photographer. For several years, she has been working on portraits of women, alone or in couples, whose photographic and lighting treatment makes their faces vaporous, barely or not readable. The identity of these women is therefore intended to be complex, emanating directly from their attitude, their clothing or their position; without going through the traditional means of expressions. Through these images, Hamamoto questions the complex identity of women, and the memory we can have. Text by Ryoko Sekiguchi.
